Job Description

The Director of Development will report directly to the CEO and oversee a comprehensive development operation, including major donors. Interested applicants should be innovative and collaborative leaders, passionate about our mission of helping girls transform their lives and grow in confidence, leadership and academic achievement.

The Director of Development will steward relationships and drive growth to achieve revenue goals. S/he should be able to successfully strategize and execute an annual fundraising plan of $2M for individuals, corporations and foundations with increased goals.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Development will cultivate partnerships with prospects, donors and board members, act as an organization liaison with Board Governance and Development Committees, and support the CEO regarding Board development. The Director of Development will be responsible for creating an annual Gala strategy and act as an oversight manager for the annual event, as well as other cultivation events. A Bachelor’s degree is required, as well as 7-10 years of successful fundraising and management experience (preferably in New York City). Applicants must demonstrate proven success in managing a development office, cultivating and soliciting major gifts, and in meeting targeted revenue goals.

Our mission is to help girls of color from underserved communities achieve confidence, leadership and academic achievement.
