Alicia Hall Moran
Alicia Hall Moran, is an award-winning multidimensional conceptual Vocal artist and creative partner with credits in contemporary art, film, music composition, classical music journalism, Jazz, Broadway, dance, symphonic and chamber music, with two critically-acclaimed albums to her name (Heavy Blueand Here Today) and a third coming in 2024. Moran made her Broadway debut in the Tony-Award-winning Porgy & Bess, starring as Bess in the 21-city National tour, and she remains a sought-after interpreter by some of today’s most exciting composers, visual artists, writers and music-makers. Herself aJerome Hill Artist fellow, VanLier fellow, and Ford Foundation Art for Change fellow, Moran's been commissioned by Whitney Biennial, Venice Biennial, TheKitchen, PROTOTYPE opera festival, Washington National Opera, ArtPublic/Miami Art Basel, Opera Southwest, Carnegie Hall, and Museum of Modern Art (to name a few) and she's been Artist in Residence at MassMoCA, National Sawdust (where she premiered her very first ice skating musical Breaking Ice in 2016), Yale Art Gallery, The Juilliard School, Isabella StewartGardner Museum, University of Miami's Frost School of Music as Inaugural Chamber Music Artist in Residence, and Bryant Park, in a Black History Month residency she conceived and performed called Cold Blooded on ice featuring Olympian Surya Bonaly, and diverse voices from all walks of life and art. The stage version of Cold Blooded with live music and film shot at frozen Lake Superior premiered at National Sawdust this Fall. Moran made her Ice Theatre of New York debut as a singer (on skates!) this season and she currently volunteers on ice with Figure Skating in Harlem.
