Black ice: a retrospective of black movement through time

Figure Skating in Harlem takes audiences on a journey celebrating Black Ice: A Retrospective of Black Movement Through Time in its 21st annual Ice Show. From tribal dance to jazz to hip hop, our girls explore the physical and metaphorical history of black movement using music and skating to tell a powerful story. The Ice Show is the time in which the girls really learn the value of teamwork and leadership, the building blocks to being skilled and graceful figure skaters. Similarly, our students apply these lessons in the classroom and beyond to create successful, focused and powerful lives.
