Remembering Mary Wilson

We are honored to celebrate the legendary Mary Wilson, Original Supreme and dear friend and Advisor to FSH for 22 years.

Mary first came to FSH in 1999 (year 2) when our girls skated their annual ice show “Supreme Ice” to a medley of The Supremes’ 12 number one hits.  We reached out to Mary cold and she arrived at the show early with her own gorgeous costumes in hand to share with our girls. They were mesmerized as she told them stories of her enormous success and world travels.  After the show, she said she would be back. It wasn’t just words – she came back AND paid for ALL of our girls show costumes the next year.  Mary returned to FSH every few years to emcee an ice show as well as two galas, where her joy filled the rooms.

Mary gave to our girls when the cameras were off.  She was sincere, kind, fun, smart, and dazzling.  When Figure Skating in Detroit opened, she couldn’t wait to get involved. We held a fundraiser at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.  She got on stage, sang and danced and our girls joined in. Mary was excited to participate in our upcoming Gala, and we are honored to dedicate it to her.

Mary – you were the REAL DEAL. And we are forever grateful ❤️
