Biography

Lisa Edmiston is a lifelong educator of over 20 years.  She was a principal of a successful International Baccalaureate Middle School in Astoria NY for 17 years.  As a principal she created foreign languages as a major (mandarin or Spanish) where students who learned Spanish were able to take the LOTE exam which gave them high school credits. Lisa also implemented the Living Environment and Algebra I Regents exams with an impressive passing rate for 8th grade students. It has always been her quest to offer the best education for all students regardless of their zip code or parents W2.  Each and every child deserves the best and Lisa is known for creating learning environments where children feel safe to make mistakes, explore, be their unique individual selves and embrace the joy of learning.

FSH’s programs work with hundreds of girls annually on the ice and in the classroom. Our staff has grown from 3 to more than 75 coaches, teachers, tutors and counselors.
