SUSAN KITTENPLAN
Biography
Susan Kittenplan began her media career as an intern at Harper’s Bazaar while in high school and has been working in print and digital publishing ever since. She is the founder of Kittenplan Catalyst LLC, a consultancy for creatives and their projects, such as book editing for Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love and Andrew Solomon’s Far From the Tree. More recently, Kittenplan was VP of lifestyle and entertainment content at Yahoo and, during two decades at Condé Nast and Hearst, served as executive editor at Allure, senior editor at GQ, deputy editor at Glamour, features editor at Harper’s Bazaar, and associate editor at Vanity Fair.
Kittenplan received a BA in English from Cornell University and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University. Her current volunteer positions include president of The Skating Club of New York, media and packaging specialist for the United States Figure Skating Association, board director for Figure Skating in Harlem, and member of the President’s Council of Cornell Women and the Spence School alumnae board.
